“Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree” by Robert Barry is a beloved book from our childhood, and given the fun we had with mini Christmas trees last year, it felt perfect to spotlight mini trees again this year.

We kicked off the day with a cozy breakfast, reading “Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree” while enjoying pandan-flavored Christmas tree waffles. The clever twist? The waffles could be unstacked to make the tree shorter and shorter, just like the book's story!

After breakfast, we gave each of the kids their own tree to decorate, a project they can continue throughout the holiday season. Next, we put up the family Christmas tree in the living room, accompanied by our festive “Trimming the Christmas Tree” playlist.

Lunch was a fun, hands-on affair, with adorable Christmas trees made from pitas and guacamole. Then we headed to the neighborhood forest to hang a Christmas seed tree for the birds, a nod to the book’s themes.

We wrapped up the evening by watching “The Tiny Tree” and enjoying cheddar and ham stuffed Christmas trees that the kids could help make. Once the little ones were asleep, we parents treated ourselves to a fun and festive cocktail, using the rosemary Christmas tree ice cube hack.

All in all, it was a day filled with joy, creativity, and the spirit of the season!
