Christmas in July 2021
We first experienced “Christmas in July” in 2017 as we were vacationing on a patio in Lake Como, Italy celebrating our one-year anniversary. Suddenly, we realized Christmas music was playing on the speakers. We were quite confused until we looked at our watch and realized it was July 25th… Christmas Day in July :)
Since then, we’ve been aware of it but typically nothing major. But after our first year of Dates of Christmas, we knew we had to remember it for this year. So, despite Bekah being eight months pregnant, we recreated some of our famous Christmas date memories from 2021 (rollerblading from South America, egg nog drinks from Puerto Rico, charades from Oceania, etc…). Ben rollerbladed while Bekah gamely biked to the local Catholic Church that was having a Food Truck Fest, conveniently with a fried dessert similar to bunuelos. Between the pregnancy and Santa hats, we were quite a sight out there :)
2021’s Christmas festivities might look a bit different as we’ll have two little infants to incorporate into the celebrations. But we’re down to give it a try and do the best we can. We’ll see how this goes!
