Christmas is undoubtedly a time of shopping frenzy. Christmas music is in stores the moment November arrives, Santas are ubiquitous with shopping malls, and then there are those days called Black Friday and Cyber Monday and all the rest. The shopping malls and their parking lots are packed, lists are being checked (and checked twice), and there’s a buzz in the air whenever you venture out.

We didn’t have much desire to add to the chaos by trekking out to the mall with our toddler twins in tow. Instead, we tried to make it less “commercial” and more “comfortable” by queuing up some of the cutest, funniest, and most heartwarming Christmas ads in television history.

From the Campbell’s snowman to the “Crazy Target Lady” to the Coca Cola bears to the Hershey’s Kisses jingle bells, there were so many nostalgic moments. However, we not only watched the ads but also made the menu for the day based on as many of the products as we could. Plus, there were some great finds from overseas that we’d never seen before (John Lewis and Marks & Spencer for example) and it was a nice, simple way to incorporate the commercial element of the holiday without succumbing to its pressures.
